Meet Our Superior Shreveport Staff
Educational Background: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe
Passion: I have always had a passion for helping other people. Counseling allows me to help those in need reach personal goals and gives a sense of normalcy in their lives. The feeling I have when I know I have helped someone during a hard period in their life is one of the best feelings in the world.
Message to Clients: I want my clients to know that I am willing to work with people in need to help them reach the outcomes they desire. Counseling can be a very difficult process in the beginning and requires time and effort on both mine and the client's part. What I ask of my clients is they are open and honest so that I can serve them to the best of my ability. In return, I will use my education and experience to accommodate my clients and provide services that will hopefully allow them to reach their desired destination.

Veronica Trahan MHP-Team Leader
Educational Background: Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. I am also a counseling intern in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor
Passion: My name is Veronica Trahan and being a Mental Health Professional is my spiritual gift. Being a teacher in the Caddo Parish School System has given me a unique perspective on children and the effects family dynamics have on behavior. I love teaching parents alternative methods of disciplining their children. It is so rewarding to hear a client thank me for my assistance.
Message to Clients: The purpose of helping others is to facilitate change. Change is difficult and it takes work. I am willing to do everything I can to help you through this process. Everyone needs help at some time in their lives and I am here for you.
Educational Background: Associate of Science in Criminal Justice (University of Louisiana at Monroe); Bachelor of Science in Psychology (University of Louisiana at Monroe); Master’s of Science in Psychology (Grambling State University)
Passion: My approach to healping others is primarily, “the way we think affects the way we feel and behave.” I am passionate, direct, solution-focused, and I emphasize personal responsibility. I believe in exploring recipients’ beliefs and focusing on their views of the world to determine thought patterns which might be keeping them from achieving their goals. My goal is to help clarify the goals of my recipients and to work collaboratively with those individuals to find ways to achieve them. I have served as a facilitator for social skills groups for children who have attention deficits, low self-esteem, and anger control issues. I also worked as a detention center employee as well as provided in home skills training to youth and families.
Message to Clients: I believe that no one is perfect: that's why pencils have erasers - to erase life’s mistakes.
